š Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!
š"As a result of the anguish of His soul, He will see it and be satisfied by His knowledge. The Righteous One, My Servant will make many righteous and He will bear their iniquities." (Isa 53:11)
š āFor even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.ā (Mar 10:45, TLV)
Happy Hanukkah and have a blessed time celebrating the birth of our Messiah!
Feast of Dedication also known as Feast of Lights (Hanukkah) already began in the evening of Sunday, 22 December and will end in the evening of Monday, 30 December. It is a Jewish holiday commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple after Maccabean Revolt.Ā During that time, they could only find the purified oil for one day and it takes 8 days to produce the purified oil. Miraculously the oil for the first day was enough for the candles for eight days!Ā The festival is observed by lighting the candles of a nine-branched menorah or known as hanukkiah.
The unique candle used to light the other eight candles is called the shamash (attendant).Ā One additional candle is lit every night by the shamash until all eight candles are lit on the eighth day.Ā Messianic Jews would explain to us that the shamash represents Yeshua, who sacrificed His own life to enlighten others.Ā Let us pray all will see Yeshua during this season, and we will learn to serve but not to be served. Amen.
