🍞 Manna for Meditation 80

💞 Dear Royal Praying Priests, shalom!

💎O how I love Your Torah! It is my meditation all day.” (Psm 119:97, TLV)

💎 “Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.” (Psm 119:97, NIV)

💎 “This book of the Torah should not depart from your mouth—you are to meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will make your ways prosperous and then you will be successful.” (Jos 1:8, TLV)

The Hebrew word תּוֹרָה (Torah) is translated as law in most English Bible translations, which may give us a wrong impression. תּוֹרָה (Torah) is derived from the root word יָרָה (yarah) which means to shoot an arrow, to guide, to instruct, and to teach. Therefore, תּוֹרָה (Torah) is not a set of rules that regulate our behaviours or control our thoughts. תּוֹרָה (Torah) points out the direction and the way of life, and this is a good news! When we love the Torah, we are appreciating the guidance, instruction and revelation of God!

The psalmist teaches us that besides loving the Torah, we also need to meditate on it all day long. The root word of my meditation means to contemplate, to communicate, to pray, to reflect, and to talk. What is the difference between meditation and yoga, qigong meditation or the generally popular meditation? The meditation is based on the Word of God. By the help of the Holy Spirit, we understand the truth, receive our faith lessons and apply them to our daily life. We as the set-apart Praying Priests should not be involved with any other ways of pursuing mysterious power.

We begin our meditation from repentance, quieting our hearts, worshipping and singing praises, praying, and reading the Bible verses several times. By the leading of the Holy Spirit, write down the truth and reflections, apply them in your life, share them with others, and pray for people. The three main steps are observation, interpretation and application.

There are ups and downs in our faith journey. However, as long as we do not give up with the help of the Holy Spirit, we are climbing higher and higher every day. The more we meditate on the Word of God, the more we are like our Saviour Yeshua!

🙏Dear Heavenly Father, we deeply appreciate Your gracious revelation that points out the way of life in the world of darkness. We admit that sometimes we are too tired, too busy, too lazy or making too many excuses to spend time with You. Please help us to meditate on Your Word, taste the sweetness of it, and apply what we learn from You to the everyday life. We love your Word (Torah), and we need the leading and revelation of Your Word more than ever. In Yeshua’s name we pray and bless You, Amen.
